The Graduate Studies Committee serves as the faculty body responsible for advancing the School's graduate education philosophy and providing broad guidance on the development of academic programs, the establishment of curricula, and other graduate educational initiatives. The committee also considers the educational principles that encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and support the integration of graduate education across the university.

Membership

The Graduate Studies Committee consists of the Faculty Graduate Advisor for each academic graduate degree program, selected by the faculty of the corresponding department or program; one graduate student selected by the Samueli School of Engineering graduate student body; and the Dean, or the Dean's designated representative, serving as an ex officio member. Faculty members serve three-year terms, while the student member serves a one-year term.
