How to Apply
General Application Materials
Applicants will need to submit the following:
- Completed Online Application: Please note that a completed online application includes paying the Application Fee.
- Transcripts: Copies of your unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended since high school (community colleges, Bachelor's degrees, Master's degrees, Doctorate degrees).
- GRE (if applicable): Please review your desired program’s website to determine whether the GRE is required. GRE Subject tests are not required.
- TOEFL/IELTS scores (if applicable): International applicants or permanent residents who earned a degree outside of the
U.S. are required to submit a valid TOEFL or IELTS test score.
- TOEFL iBT: Overall minimum score of 80 (traditional scale) or 4 (new scale, starting January 2026)
- IELTS: Overall minimum score of 7 and no scores less than 6 on any individual module.
- Letters of Recommendation: Number of letters varies per program and degree requirement (M.S., Ph.D); please review your desired program’s website for specific requirements.
- Statement of Purpose: 1200 word maximum.
- Personal History Statement (if applicable): 1200 word maximum. Please review your desired program’s website to determine whether this statement is required.
