Shi’s research at UCI seeks to enable next-generation energy conversion and propulsion technologies through studying the fundamental physics and chemistry of reacting flows and materials. His current research interests include high-speed reacting flows, detonation and shock, chemical kinetics, renewable fuels, carbon materials, nanoparticle synthesis and dynamics.
